Growth is easiest to understand when every project has a name, a current status and a date that can be checked. As of September 25, 2026, several significant changes around Lakewood Ranch range from a hospital tower ribbon-cutting to schools, recreation facilities and residential communities still taking shape.

This update separates what is open from what is under construction or announced. It does not treat a target date as a completed project, and it leaves out proposals whose present status could not be confirmed through a primary source.

RIBBON CUTTING HELD: Lakewood Ranch Medical Center's New Patient Tower

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center reached a concrete milestone this year. Universal Health Services, the hospital's parent company, reports that a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new five-story patient tower was held in March 2026. Unlike the projects below, that milestone is recorded as having happened rather than presented as a future target.

The current corporate update identifies the hospital as a 120-bed facility but does not provide enough detail to assign a new bed count to the tower here. The practical takeaway is narrower: the five-story tower reached its public ribbon-cutting milestone in March, while current patient access, services and capacity should be checked directly with the medical center. OPENING SOON: Life Time Lakewood Ranch

Life Time lists its Lakewood Ranch athletic country club as arriving October 12. A separate official Life Time preview identifies the opening month as October 2026 and describes an 86,000-square-foot club. The location page gives the address as 5000 Lakewood Ranch Boulevard North, Sarasota. Read the official Life Time 2026 preview →

Because the opening is still ahead of this story's September 25 publication date, the correct status is opening soon, not open. Membership terms, access rules and the final operating schedule belong to Life Time's current club page. Check the official Life Time opening page →

UNDER CONSTRUCTION: Premier Athletics and Aquatics Center

Manatee County's current location page still labels the Athletics and Aquatics Center at Premier Sports Campus North as under construction. The county describes an approximately 44,000-square-foot facility at 16350 Rangeland Parkway, with a competition pool, a second pool, walking trails and 24 pickleball courts, including covered courts. Check the current Manatee County project page →

County materials have published a late-summer or fall 2026 target, but the live location page does not yet confirm an opening. Until that changes, residents should read fall 2026 as the county's expected window, not as evidence that the facility is already available. Read the official County schedule announcement →

UNDER CONSTRUCTION: Rangeland High School

The School District of Manatee County says Rangeland High School is under construction on approximately 85 acres at the southwest corner of Rangeland Parkway and Post Boulevard. The district expects the school to welcome its first students in August 2027, initially serving about 1,070 students.

The project matters beyond a new building: it is a dated capacity addition for families in eastern Manatee County. The August 2027 opening remains a scheduled milestone, so enrollment boundaries, programs and opening-year procedures should come from future district notices. UNDER CONSTRUCTION: Emerson Lakes

Emerson Lakes, an Erickson Senior Living community in Lakewood Ranch, remains under construction. A March 2026 project update says construction began in 2024, the first three residence buildings are planned to bring 315 homes, and the first building is set to open in early 2027. A fourth building with 118 additional homes is also under construction for a later phase.

Earlier materials used a 2026 window, but the newer project-specific update moves the first residential opening to early 2027. This story uses that newer timing and does not describe the community as open. Read the March 2026 Emerson Lakes update →

ANNOUNCED: EverCreek

PulteGroup announced EverCreek in June 2026 after closing on a 464-acre site in southeastern Lakewood Ranch. The published plan calls for 1,000 homes: 850 single-family homes and 150 townhomes. The announcement says home designs and pricing would be shared later.

The important status word is announced. The official release does not establish a public opening, sales launch or completion date, so EverCreek belongs on the watch list rather than in a list of places residents can visit now. Read the official EverCreek announcement →

What to Watch Next

The next meaningful updates are confirmations: an operating announcement for the Premier center, the October opening of Life Time, construction and enrollment details for Rangeland High School, and a firm first-resident date for Emerson Lakes. EverCreek still needs a dated launch update before it can move beyond announced status.
